Morag Alexander
This year in October Ross will celebrate his 10th bone marrow transplant anniversary. In January I decided to set myself a challenge to run 10 events to raise funds for the Bubble Foundation, the charity who support Ward 3 (Transplant unit) at the Great North Children’s Hospital. I’ve completed 9/10 races, across the country in areas covered by NHS Highland, NHS Grampian and Newcastle Health Trust, where Ross received most of his care.
The final run in October is a 50k trail course, from Brodie castle to Inverness castle with my running buddies who have supported me over the year.
The Bubble Foundation provided Ross and myself with an overwhelming and endless amount of support whilst we negotiated a life changing treatment, which allowed Ross to become the hero we know today. This is my way of saying thank you ❤️
The Bubble Foundation are here to give children with life-threatening immune conditions the best possible chance of a full recovery and to make life a little easier for families navigating the trauma of a poorly child.
Our vision: A world where children with life-threatening immune conditions have the chance, not just to survive, but to thrive.
