Big Business Champions FAQ
What is a Big Business Champion?
A Big Business Champion is a company that partners with The Bubble Foundation to make a lasting difference to children and families living with life-threatening immune conditions. Champions support our work through fundraising, awareness, volunteering (where possible) and workplace engagement.
Why should our business become a Big Business Champion?
Partnering with The Bubble Foundation gives your team the opportunity to support a cause with a national - even global impact. Your support helps provide vital services for children and families, while creating meaningful opportunities for employee engagement, team building and corporate social responsibility.
What does a partnership involve?
Every partnership is unique. We work with businesses to create activities that fit your team, including:
Fundraising challenges and events
Workplace giving
Charity of the Year partnerships
Employee volunteering
Awareness campaigns
Sponsored challenges
Corporate donations
How much do we need to raise or donate?
There is no minimum commitment. Whether you raise hundreds or thousands of pounds, every contribution helps us continue supporting children and families. We can help design a partnership that works for your business and your goals.
How will our support make a difference?
Your support helps fund the things that make a real difference to families, including play, wellbeing, equipment, family support and projects that improve the experience of children receiving specialist treatment.
Can our employees get involved?
Absolutely. We love creating opportunities for teams to get involved, from fundraising challenges and events to volunteering (not in the hospital due to restrictions) and sharing our story within your workplace.
Can you help us organise fundraising activities?
Yes. Our small team can provide ideas, resources and support to help make your fundraising successful. Whether you want a one-off challenge or a year-long programme, we can help bring your ideas to life.
Can we choose where our money goes?
We understand that businesses like to see the impact of their support. We can discuss specific projects and areas of our work where your partnership can make a difference.
Do you offer recognition for business partners?
Yes. We work with our Big Business Champions to recognise their support through opportunities such as social media features, workplace stories, partnership updates and involvement in charity campaigns. We also aim to work with newspapers through this isn't always guaranteed.
Are partnerships only for large companies?
No!! Not at all. While the programme is called Big Business Champions, businesses of all sizes can get involved. We believe the biggest impact comes from strong partnerships, not just the size of a company.
How do we become a Big Business Champion?
Get in touch with our team and we’ll start a conversation about what matters to your business, what you or your employees would enjoy and how we can work together to make a difference.
Who can I contact for more information?

Payroll Giving
In payroll giving, every 80p becomes £1. As it is donated before tax, the government covers the additional 20p.
Payroll Giving, also known as Give As You Earn, is a UK program that allows employees to donate to charities directly from their pre-tax pay, making charitable giving simple and tax-efficient. Contributions are taken before tax is applied, meaning employees can donate more without it costing them extra. For example, a £10 donation costs a basic rate taxpayer only £8, with the government covering the difference.
For companies, Payroll Giving is a great way to support employees’ charitable efforts, enhance workplace morale, and strengthen corporate social responsibility. Some employers also match employee donations, amplifying the impact. Payroll Giving is straightforward to set up through a Payroll Giving Agency, and it’s a sustainable way for organisations and their employees to make a positive impact regularly.
To set up payroll giving in your company visit an approved Payroll giving agency such as Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), Payroll Giving in Action, and Give As You Earn.
Financial benefits of charitable giving
Companies can receive tax relief on their charitable donations, deducting the amount donated from their profits before tax. This offers a tax-efficient way for businesses to support charities.
