Abia
- patient
- not forgotten

My daughter, Abia, was just two months old when she was admitted to RVI Hospital. Very quickly, she was diagnosed with HLH by Professor Gennery and his team. I will always remember how fast they acted to begin treatment, and how committed they were from the very beginning.
For two months, the doctors worked tirelessly to bring the disease under control, and then she was able to go home with us for a short while. Soon after, Abia returned for her bone marrow transplant.
Throughout this difficult journey, I received incredible support—not only from the doctors and nurses but from everyone connected to our care. I never once doubted their dedication or their compassion. The transplant itself went well, and new cells came in successfully.
But Abia was only eight months old, and her little body had already endured chemotherapy, transplant, and so much more. On the 20th of June, 2025, she lost her final battle. Even then, the doctors never gave up on her. She went to ICU, she went through so many treatments, and she showed a courage far beyond her years.
Though her time with us was short, the care, love, and support we received made all the difference. The Bubble Foundation stood beside us every step of the way—helping us as parents, helping Abia, and making sure we never felt alone.
I cannot thank the Foundation enough. They are truly a lifeline for families like ours. They do so much, not only for the children but for the parents as well, and I will always be grateful for their kindness, compassion, and the hope they give.
