Well it’s been a while since I’ve set up a page!!

I wanted to do something for our son Aaron. It would have been his 30th Birthday this year on the 25 November. All his family and friends would have been making plans to have the best party and raising a glass. Unfortunately that will never happen.

Sadly Aaron passed when he was only 4yrs 8mnths old having fought most his life. He had a number of health issues, to name a few - failure to thrive, meningitis twice leaving him with partial hearing and epilepsy. He finally succumb to a combination of chickenpox and EBV.

At the same time our daughter who was 18 months old was fighting for her life with the same illness. Rebecca was taken to Newcastle General Hospital where they started working on her. Eventually she had a BMT when she was 7 years old. She is now 26 with her own family. The Bubble Foundation are a huge part both then and today in helping save our daughter and providing myself, husband Sam and our oldest son, Daniel the support and care we needed. Daniel was only 7 years old when he lost his brother and very nearly loosing his sister. He witnessed so much, things no child should ever see. He has been amazing throughout. He also has his own family. ❤️

We owe so much to the Team in Newcastle. Forever grateful and who will always be our extended family.

It has taken 20 years to find out what was the actual cause of our children’s illness. After years of research the team of consultants informed us that they found the illness to be CTPS1

SO, to honour Aaron’s 30th Birthday, I’m going to take part in the 2 Valleys Trail Event in Keswick this coming Sunday which is a 21k run. It’s going to be so emotional on the day. I just hope I do my boy proud 💙
