3 Peaks Challenge

Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Our amazing team of hikers stepped out into the sunshine on 12 June 2021 to take on the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge. The aim of this exhausting challenge is to cover 24 miles in 12 hours!

Organised by Susan and Lorna, nurses on Ward 3, the team also included consultant Mary Slatter, Charge Nurse Neil Stotesbury and ward manager, Jill Coates, supported by their friends, family and Phil Punton the photographer in his support vehicle. Originally planned for May 2020 this event was postponed twice during the pandemic so the team were thrilled to finally get out there after months of planning and fundraising. Special thanks to the creative artwork of the patients and play team for their support of this event.

“We were so grateful for the sun to be shining on the day, it was tough but a thoroughly enjoyable day and I’m very proud of the team for completing the course“, says Mary Slatter, Consultant in Paediatric HSCT.

We want to express our thanks to the team for completing this tough trek over the unforgiving hills in Yorkshire to raise £2964.17 for the charity.

If you want to get involved and set up a fun challenge like this with your friends and family to help raise funds for The Bubble Foundation please do get in touch with your ideas.
