We are proud to be the charity of the year partner for the Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon, Half Marathon and10k in 2026. We have FREE places to give this year if you will fundraise for us!

If you choose to run for the Bubble Foundation, you will be making a real difference to the lives of children with life threatening immune disorders. you will help us to provide toys and activities for the children, medical equipment and support for families trying to navigate life with a poorly child. We also fund cutting-edge research into treatments & diagnosis which continues to improve survival rates and gives little lives around the world the chance to thrive.

We will give you a lovely t-shirt to run in and we will be there, with bubbles, to cheer you along!

Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, & Juniors Presented by Nuun Hydration on Sunday 3rd May 2026 In Support of The Bubble Foundation

This fully road-closed course takes you past some of Gateshead’s most recognisable landmarks, including the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, BALTIC, Tyne Bridge and Swing Bridge, before finishing at the iconic Gateshead International Stadium.

Gateshead International Stadium is the third-largest sporting venue in Tyne and Wear and the North East’s only IAAF-standard athletics stadium. It has hosted Diamond League and European Cup events, welcoming some of the world’s greatest athletes. By crossing the finish line here, you will be following in the footsteps of World Champions and Olympians, on a track where five world records have been broken.

Race distances and start times

Please note: there is a 6-hour cut-off due to road closures.

The course

This fully road-closed route takes in some of Gateshead’s best-known landmarks, including the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Glasshouse ICM, BALTIC, Tyne Bridge and Swing Bridge, before finishing inside the iconic Gateshead International Stadium. You will complete a lap of the track and cross the finish line cheered on by family and friends.

Kilometres are clearly marked, and friendly marshals will guide and support you all the way to the finish. The event village will be lively and well serviced, with food and drink options, plus free finish-line goodies from our partners.
