Autumn

patient

Autumn, from Yorkshire, has rare genetic condition Hyper-IgE syndrome.  Hyper-IgE syndrome is primary immunodeficiency characterised by elevated levels of immunoglobulin, recurrent skin and lung infections and eczema. It affects the immune system, skin, lungs and skeletal system. Since 1966 when it was discovered there have only been 230 cases.

Autumn came to Ward 3 just before her 4th birthday in November 2025, and after a short course of chemotherapy had her stem cell transplant. Both mum Louise and dad Matt have been with her in Newcastle for her journey. The family was allowed off the ward for Christmas day and Autumn’s recovery continues, with the family looking forward to getting home soon (February 26).

Matt and Louise, their friends, family and colleagues have been relentless in fundraising for the Bubble Foundation and raising awareness of Autumn’s condition and what the Bubble Foundation does.
