Individuals
As an individual, you might want to make a donation, or sponsor an event, or organise your own event!
Whatever suits you best, we would love to hear from you. We will help you decide how you can give, or how to organise an event. You might already have a lot of experience, but if you are looking for ideas, below are some examples of how others have helped us raise funds. And don’t forget to think about who else you know who could play a part in some way.
Sponsored activities – e.g. walks, swims, gym workouts, or any novel idea you might dream up (as long as it’s legal!)
Sponsored marathons:
Flora Marathon - run 26 miles around our capital city
BUPA Great North Run - half marathon in Newcastle
Various fun runs
Car boot sale – people are often glad to find a home for unwanted items, knowing the proceeds will benefit the Bubble
Coffee mornings
Seasonal events, such as Carol Service, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Bonfire parties, BBQs
Fashion show
Persuading the association you are a member of to support the Bubble via an event
Persuading your employer to sponsor us via a donation or adopting the Bubble as their preferred charity for the year
Using your contacts to identify a well-known celebrity to lend their name to your event or to the Bubble
Using your contacts to help get media support for the Bubble
Using your contacts to donate items for auction or as prizes for charity events
If you are feeling particularly adventurous, you could try Cycling, Trekking, Kayaking in Africa, Peru, China and the Grand Canyon!
The list is endless and we welcome your own ideas.
Companies
Ikea is one of the companies who have supported THE BUBBLE FOUNDATION UK over the last year.
“We operate a charity scheme where we ask or employees to nominate a charity they would like the company to support. We then contact the nominated charities and ask then to send information about their causes, which we display on the Staff Notice Board. All employees then vote and the charity with the highest number of votes becomes or ‘Charity of the Year’. Employees then come up with fundraising ideas, which they have to carry out. These include things like football matches, raffles, sponsored bag-packing, fire training. At the end of the year, we donate Idea products so the nominated charity can complete a particular project.
The Bubble Foundation UK was a very popular choice because our staff felt a huge sympathy with the suffering of the babies and children whose only hope of survival is a bone marrow transplant, and we were very impressed with the number of lives being saved as a result of the high level of medical care and excellent research.”
