Family Fun Day
To see Elle Heim-Sarac bouncing around her grandmother's living room, it is difficult to believe she is anything other than a normal five-year-old girl.
But just over four years ago she was close to death and some of the country's leading children's doctors were baffled by the illness which was slowly destroying her.
Now five-and-a-half, Elle will join her mum and grandmother at their first fund-raising event for the charity, a family fun day at the Catherine Beckett Community Centre in Deepdale Road, Preston, on Sunday.
Stretched across the outside of that building will be huge poster of Elle as a baby with the words, When A Kiss Can Kill.
The fun day, including a bouncy castle, climbing wall and face painting, runs from 11am until 3pm. For further details or to donate to the Bubble Foundation e-mail: ssarac@uclan.ac.uk

Ladies mini marathon Dublin 2009
It was a very busy event again, busier than last year we thought. We got as many out as we could on the day. We had lots of enjoyment on a perfect day. The route was identical to last year. We started at Fitzwilliam Square and finished at St. Stephens Green. Tim in his Scouts uniform and hat was our Mascot. He reminded us of what we were running for.
He had travelled to meet us with another mother, who had collected him & some of his mates from a “Scouts Cubs weekend away”. His is delighted with life, & exhausted, after 3 late nights away in the Dublin Mountains with his mates! We were under constant sunshine. We almost forgot that we were in Dublin. It was so nice to be a participant.
There were lots of band’s and musical groups playing as we sprinted along. Dublin Fire Brigade had hoses played on us, whenever a cooling off was needed. Think I heard that 45,000 were to run, but don’t take my word for it. It did seem very busy.
It took us 30 minutes to reach the “Start” Line. We all reached the “Finish” Line very shortly after arriving to the “Start” Joan, Tim, & his Scout friends were waiting for us on St. Stephens Green at the “finish” with a cup of tea, tomato sandwiches, & biscuits. It was needed.
